Blessed Indeed

Today was a blessed day. I woke up late for early-morning service (starts at 7:30am) and therefore irritated with myself. I had to pray my way through service, asking God to make Tyler sit still. It worked. Afterward, we went grocery shopping to pick up a few things for the dinner I planned to cook for a friend and his family. Dinner went well, the food was good, and no one was sick. You can't take anything for granted. Since dinner was so early (about 2pm), I was able to have the late afternoon to myself. Tyler and I just relaxed on the couch and played a bit together. A good friend was in town from St. Louis, so we were able to catch up in the early evening over a quart of shrimp fried rice (its our thing...I guess that's where I get it from). Later in the evening, I checked my email to find that I had a new sermon to upload onto another blog site that I run. The quality of the sermon came out great, so I'm excited about that. I enjoy doing this because I know that God would be pleased.

Moreso than all these events, I found myself stopping in my own tracks to just thank the Lord for all that I have, all that I possess, and even for the things I lack. I have peace, a sense of well-being, and I acknowledge that I am blessed beyond what I could have imagined for myself...even with the medical issues that I face.

In case you don't know, I run a larger website called www.christiejoyner.com. From there, I feature other Christian ministries, including the singles column "Singleocity" written by New York columnist and writer, Sonja Gracy (http://Singleocity.christiejoyner.com) and I stream sermons from Grace Baptist Church (http://Graceblog.christiejoyner.com). I'm looking to expand the website further by including streaming other ministers' sermons, unsigned Christian music, and other ministries. For more details, email me at cj@christiejoyner.com. All streaming is done free of charge.
