The Beginning of the Quest to Know God
This turned out to be a good weekend. After a lot of work, I was able to figure out that I'm not going to be able to feed the VGA wire through the wall like I wanted to in order to create an aesthetically appealing appearance for my hidden CPU. So, I did the next best thing and am now blogging from my living room instead of my bedroom. This set up does a lot for me and enables me to separate my rest space from my work space. And as expected, my bedroom is suddenly a lot bigger. I'm enjoying the new space. I didn't get the opportunity to do Yoga this weekend, but I may still do it this week. I'm hoping to practice Yoga as a regular part of my exercise routine. I started Yoga earlier this year and I find it great for both mental and muscle relaxation and stress reduction. The day after, my body feels looser...a great feeling.
I've continued to treat my tattoo and make sure it doesn't get infected. It still looks good and it doesn't hurt unless you apply a good amount of pressure to it. I sent my mother and older sister a picture of the tattoo and they both fell in love with it. Both the tattoo artist and friends of mine believe that I will get more. I initially didn't think so. But after thinking about it for a while, I think that I want to continue to get more tattoos, each being a different name of God. I realize that my experience or relationship with God is limited to my desire to know Him. I often think of God as an outer-cosmos spirit, though I'm learning that He is an entity who has feelings and characteristics,...like a person. I know Him as a healer, thus His name, Adonai Ropheka, is on my back. As I know Him in accordance with His other attributes, I want to have those names listed on my back. Over my lifetime, each will be a separate story and testimony to who God is. I hope to accumulate a long list of the attributes of God. I no longer want to rely on the word of others as to who God is or what He is capable of doing. I wonder what it is like to know God, the same God who created the universe, who knew guided Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...who parted the Red Sea for Moses and the Children of Israel...the same God who granted me a child and touched my body. What is it to know a God so personally? What is it for God to call you His friend? What is it for God to be pleased with you...for Him to view you like He viewed Job?
I want to know the Lord for myself.
